I Will Carry You

aka  Breaktrack.

I will carry you, old soldier,

I will carry you.

When your life has left you soldier.

I will carry you.

In World War 2 you walked across

That horrible battlefield.

To stop a tyrant on the loose

Who swore he wouldn’t yield.

I will carry you old soldier

I will carry you.

To your final rest, old soldier,

I will carry you.

You suffered cold, and wet, and pain

To help to end that strife

And now you’ve laid down all that’s dear

You lived an honored life.

So I will carry you, old soldier,

I will carry you.

From the hearse to graveside, soldier,

I will carry you.

Those who love you know the cost

Of what you did for all

There was no hesitation when

You answered up the call.

Now I will carry you, old soldier.

I will carry you.

In my cherished memory, soldier,

I will carry you.

Now all our children live in freedom

Your sacrifice secured.

And share in blessings undeserved,

Their liberty assured.

I will carry you, old soldier,

Deep within my heart.

For you have carried me, old soldier,

From the very start.
