A Whole New Train

aka  Breaktrack.

A Brother of mine, just the other day,

Said he’d found a new path, said he’d found a new way.

Found a way out of strife, and had good things to say.

My Brother found a whole new train.

He’d ridden one other oh a long time ago.

He really didn’t like where it took him you know.

He found a better life where he’d much rather go.

My Brother found a whole new train.

The other he’d ridden took him partway to hell.

All of his dreams and his ambitions fell.

But now when you look at him you can surely tell.

My Brother found a whole new train.

He ran with some others in a big ol’ pack,

And they ran with the devil and they didn’t look back.

Of all of his misdeeds he couldn’t keep track,

But my Brother found a whole new train.

He had ridden the other for a long, long time.

And he didn’t really think his life was worth a thin dime.

He didn’t even expect to live through to his prime.

But my Brother found a whole new train.

One day he found forgiveness in the bottom of the pit.

When he found the Lord caused the whole place to be lit.

Now he’s never in darkness no matter where he goes to sit.

My Brother found a whole new train.

Now his life is mended, his life is now full.

With a family and friends now with whom he can pull.

To keep him riding steady and away from the bull.

My Brother found a whole new train.

To a train to Heaven, from a train to hell,

Now that is one hell of a story to tell.

Now standing tall from the pit where he fell.

My Brother found a whole new train.

Now the tracks aren’t always shiny, they’re not always smooth.

There are gaps now and then that he has to soothe

But it doesn’t take long to get back in that groove.

My Brother found a whole new train.

Blow the whistle please, and loud if you will.

This train’s going strong, and it’s going uphill.

Climbing high as it should with a mission to fill.

My Brother found a whole new train.

It can happen to you, right now if you want.

You can board with my Brother for a short little jaunt.

Then the other train you’re on will not even haunt.

You too can find a whole new train.
